Feline Wellness and Vaccination Plan

Here’s what to expect for your feline friend for all stages of his/her life.

Stage 1: Your kittens first 16 months

1st visit: (usually about 8 to 9 weeks of age)

  • Complete physical exam
  • First set of vaccines
  • Fecal analysis +/- deworming, please bring a stool sample with you
  • Information given regarding diet choices, up coming visits, spaying and neutering, behavioral concerns

Second visit (3-4 weeks after first vaccines, usually about 12 weeks old)

  • Complete physical exam
  • Second set of vaccines
  • Questions and answers regarding any current health or behavioural concerns

Third visit: (16 weeks of age)

  • Complete Physical exam
  • Third and final vaccines for this year, includes rabies vaccination
  • Spay or neuter procedures discussed and appointment booked for 6 months of age

6 months of age:

  • Spaying or neutering (declawing done at this time if requested)
  • Microchip implantation if requested (highly recommended)
  • Pre-anesthetic bloodwork (checking for any early signs of illness)
  • Health and well being assessment i.e body condition
  • Diet and dental health advice

At 16 months:

  • Annual physical exam
  • Full vaccinations
  • Fecal analysis
  • Any health concerns discussed
  • Body condition assessment
  • Recommendations regarding dental health

Stage 2: The Adult Cat (2-7 years old)

  • Annual physical exam, vaccinations, and fecal exam if needed
  • Ongoing body condition assessment and guidelines given
  • Annual “mini” wellness blood profile to scan for any early health concerns
  • Recommendations regarding dental health

Stage 3: The Geriatic Pet: age 8 years+

  • Annual or bi-annual physical exam depending on noted physical changes
  • Comprehensive work-up including 12 chemistry blood panel and complete blood count (CBC)
  • Urinalysis
  • Blood Pressure testing
  • Dental care
  • Body condition and diet review
  • Vaccinations as needed
